We also recommend a visit to the town of Gryfice. It is an attractive municipality both in terms of tourism and its scenery, ideal for those who appreciate being close to nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the Rhine Valley.
Within the town’s boundaries lies a nature and landscape reserve known as the Rega Valley. It is a unique area where you can admire the river’s natural bends, lush vegetation and numerous spots ideal for walks and relaxation. The valley is one of the most beautiful spots in the area, particularly popular with photographers and nature lovers.
On the right-hand side of the river there are two municipal parks:
- The city park on the River Rega – well-maintained and walker-friendly, perfect for a short break during the day.
- The woodland park on the River Rega – more natural and intimate, ideal for peaceful strolls amongst the trees.
Both parks allow you to enjoy the countryside without having to leave the city.
In Gryfice, you can also find several interesting historical monuments that showcase the region’s rich history. A stroll through the town’s streets is a great way to discover its historic character and unique atmosphere.
One of the most interesting attractions is the Permanent Exhibition of Pomeranian Narrow-Gauge Railways – a museum and open-air museum showcasing the history of narrow-gauge railways in Western Pomerania. It is a branch of the Railway Museum in Warsaw, established in 1978. The open-air museum’s collection includes over a dozen narrow-gauge steam locomotives and other historic vehicles, which make a great impression on visitors – both adults and the youngest railway enthusiasts.
